Boys Wolves

Wolves Program

Wolves is a High Performance and Skills Development program to improve the quality of boys field hockey on the North Shore. We guarantee an excellent level of coaching by making use of National players, as well as Provincial or National program coaches. The Winter Wolves program will be led by Mark Pearson and Taylor Curran, two of the current Men's National Team. Coaches provide a role model for athletes and the players are exposed to current international playing trends and styles.

The Wolves program plays a vital role in a player’s technical and tactical development. All training sessions are based on the Men's National Team core concepts and principles. These sessions will give players the skills and techniques to excel in Spring league, Men's league and FHBC Provincial programs, as well as an ideal opportunity to be identified into the Junior National program.

Wolves are looking to increase the number of competitive matches the boys play. Training sessions will have a greater focus on tactical and technical elements. Selected Wolves players will tour to the Cal Cup Tournament and also play games versus local and international teams.

Wolves Opportunity to Play Men's League!

In addition to our regular Wolves Program, we have formed a partnership with our Men's Division to invite more Wolves players into the Men's League. Players over the age of 14 are eligible to play Men's League. If you participate in the Wolves Fall program and would like to play in Men's League, Men's Division is offering Wolves players the discounted rate of $125 for the season. Wolves players must attend at least 1 of the 2 Men's training sessions each week. The men train on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Registration for Men's League should be done separately via the Men's Division registration page. In order to receive the discounted rate please follow these steps:
  • First register for the Fall Wolves Program or High Performance Fall (as above)
  • Then register for Men's League. Click here for registration instructions. (The division name is Mens Practice Only)

Wolves Touring

In the past we have taken a U16 boys team down to Cal Cup in Moorpark, California. The boys have made the final in both years winning silver (2014) and gold (2015). These medals were won competing against the two USA High Performance centres as well as a Provincial Mexican team. An amazing achievement!

Players need to attend at least one Wolves session (Fall and/or Winter) to be eligible for Cal Cup selection.
