Spring Break Camps

Looking to sharpen or learn new skills heading in Spring League? The goal of our Spring Break camps is to work on basic technique and rules, play fun games and build confidence for the new season in a supportive environment. Great place to start a new sport! These camps will be under the direction of our Technical Director Geoff Matthews.

Kick off the season with our Spring Break Camps for both beginner and intermediate players! We welcome all age groups for girls & boys.

Beginner Camp
This camp is for grades  K-3 or those with less than 2 years experience.  
It is a refresher course covering all the basic field hockey skills, rules and game play to introduce or refresh skills for the upcoming spring league season.

Note: New or beginner players are encouraged to also attend the FREE New Player Camp on Monday March 20th from 9 am -12 noon. Details can be found below.

Intermediate/Advanced Camp
This camp is for grades 4-12 who have been playing for 3 years or more. This camp will refresh basic skills, game play and tactical knowledge.

Uniform:  No uniforms provided. Camps will go ahead, rain or shine. PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER.

Location: Rutledge Turf

Dates:  Tuesday March 21st - Thursday March 23rd

Time: 9:00am - 12:00 noon   

Cost:  $40/morning or $95 for all 3 morning

New Player Camp

Are you new to field hockey? Have you registered for your first year of Spring League? Come to our New Player Camp for a basic introduction to the sport. We welcome all age groups for girls & boys. 

Uniform:  No uniforms provided. Camps will go ahead, rain or shine. PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER.

Location: Rutledge Turf

Dates:  Monday March 20th

Time: 9:00am - 12:00 noon   

Cost:  no cost but you must register

We are also holding two additional sessions for our new players after Spring Break:

Location: Rutledge Turf

Dates:  Monday March 27th from 4-5pm

Tuesday March 28th from 5-6pm   

Cost:  no cost but you must register

What Do I Need?

All players are responsible for providing the following equipment:

  1. Running shoes or turf boots for artificial turf. Soccer cleats are not permitted on Rutledge Field but are allowed on other artificial turf fields.
  2. Shinpads - soccer shinpads.
  3. Mouthguard - standard plastic sports mouthguards can be purchased at many sports stores. To mold the mouthguard to the shape of your mouth so it is more comfortable, place it in boiling water for about a minute. Then take it out and hold it in your mouth for a minute.
  4. Field Hockey stick
